The Quarry Park is located just nearby Rimini, within the commune of Poggio Berni, and it is a place of special scientific interest. It is, at the same time, a bewildering evidence that the world in its land and sea lay-out used to look a lot different than it does today. More than 2,000 fish fossils have been discovered until now, but what is truly challenging is some of these items refer to species of fish which are typically spotted in tropical sea water environments, such as the Pacific and the Indian Ocean.

The curious can visit the park only between April and October, by means of guided tours organized by the tourist information office of the commune of Poggio Berni.
